Privacy Policy
Our website is deliberately simple. It has no accounts, forms, analytics, advertising or cookies, and this policy explains the little personal data that is still involved, including the Underdogs browser alpha that we host here.

The short version
- We do not use cookies, analytics, advertising trackers or social media widgets on this website.
- We do not ask you to create an account or fill in a form.
- Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, handles your IP address and basic request details in order to deliver the site and keep it secure.
- If you message us, we use what you send to reply.
- The Underdogs browser alpha on this site remembers your game settings in your browser; nothing about your play is sent to us.
- Daily Paws and Paw Pop have their own privacy policy, linked below.
Who we are
This website is run by Pocket Giant, an independent games studio in the United Kingdom.
For the personal data described in this policy, we are the data controller under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. To ask about this policy or to use any of your rights, email us at privacy [at] pocketgiant.games.
What personal data we handle
1. Technical data when you visit
When your browser loads this website, our hosting provider receives the data any web server receives: your IP address, the time and address of each request, the type of browser and device you use, and the page that referred you. This is needed to send you the page and to protect the site from abuse.
Why we use it: our legitimate interests in running a secure, working website (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). We do not use it to profile you, and we do not run our own analytics or keep our own copy of visitor logs.
2. Messages you send us
There is no contact form. If you email us or message one of our social media accounts, we receive whatever you choose to tell us, such as your name or email address or username, and your message. We use it to read and reply to you.
Our addresses on pocketgiant.games are forwarding addresses. Email sent to them passes through Cloudflare Email Routing and on to the mailboxes we use to read and reply, so Cloudflare handles those messages in transit as well as visits to the website. Cloudflare forwards them to an Apple iCloud Mail mailbox, where we read and reply to them.
Why we use it: our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us, or, where you are asking us something before using our games, to take steps at your request. We keep a message only for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry, then delete it. Messages sent through social media are also held by that platform under its own policy.
3. What we do not collect
This website does not set cookies, does not use analytics or advertising services, does not embed third-party content, and does not collect special category data. The animated background on the home page is drawn by your own device, and nothing from it is sent to us. The website's pages store nothing on your device. The Underdogs browser alpha saves only the game settings you choose (match setup, camera, intro and sound) in your browser's local storage; they stay on your device and are not sent to us. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Who else handles your data
Cloudflare (hosting, security and email forwarding)
This website is hosted on Cloudflare, which delivers the site through its global network and applies security protections. For the logs of visits to our site, Cloudflare acts as our processor under its data processing terms. For some other data, Cloudflare's own privacy policy describes it as a controller. How long Cloudflare keeps request and security logs is governed by its own policies and settings, not by us. Cloudflare also forwards email sent to our pocketgiant.games addresses. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Apple iCloud Mail (our mailbox)
Messages sent to our pocketgiant.games addresses end up in an iCloud Mail mailbox provided by Apple. Apple provides that mailbox service under its own terms and privacy policy, which describe how it handles the data it stores, including any processing outside the UK. See Apple's privacy policy. This applies only to email: the website itself does not send anything to Apple, and Apple does not receive information about your visit.
Fonts and images
All fonts, images and scripts are served from our own website. Nothing is loaded from Google Fonts, a content delivery network run by anyone else or any other third party.
Links to other sites
This website links to our social media accounts (X, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook), the App Store, and the websites for our games. These are ordinary links. Nothing is shared with those services unless you click through, and then their own privacy policies apply, not this one.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
International transfers
Cloudflare operates a global network, so technical data about your visit may be processed in countries outside the UK, including the United States. Cloudflare states that, for transfers from the UK to the US, it relies on its certification under the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and that it uses standard contractual clauses (with the UK Addendum, in its customer data processing terms) as a fallback and for other transfers. See Cloudflare's privacy policy and data processing addendum for the current position. For email held in iCloud Mail, see Apple's privacy policy.
Children
This website is general-audience and does not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or carer and think a child has sent us personal data, tell us and we will delete it. The privacy practices of our games are covered in the games' own policy.
Our games
Daily Paws and Paw Pop are separate services with their own data practices, including accounts and leaderboards. Their privacy policy is at dailypaws.co.uk/privacy.
The Underdogs browser alpha at /underdogs/play/ is part of this website and is covered by this policy. It has no accounts, analytics, adverts or third-party embeds; it only remembers your game settings in your browser, as described above. You can clear them at any time through your browser settings. Other games may have their own policies, which we will link from their pages.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- be told how your data is used (this policy);
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to erase your data in some circumstances;
- ask us to restrict how we use your data in some circumstances;
- object to us using your data for our legitimate interests;
- receive data you gave us in a portable format where that applies.
To use any of these rights, email us at privacy [at] pocketgiant.games. You can ask in any way you like, in writing or otherwise, and you do not need to quote a particular law. We may need to check who you are first, and we aim to reply within one month. There is normally no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Changes to this policy
If we change how this website uses personal data, for example by adding analytics, a contact form or embedded social content, we will update this policy and the Cookie Policy first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before anything is switched on. The date at the top shows when this policy was last reviewed.
